An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in Inner West Council area in 2017/18 shows the three largest industries were:
- Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services (3,400 people or 24.0%)
- Construction (1,903 people or 13.4%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,126 people or 8.0%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $6,429 million in total or 45.4% of the total local sales by total industry in the Inner West Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in New South Wales accounted for 20.8% in Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services; 17.1% in Construction; and 8.3% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.
