An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in City of Joondalup in 2017/18 shows the three largest industries were:

- Retail Trade ($409 million or 23.8%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($281 million or 16.3%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $1,141 million in total or 66.4% of the total exports by total industry in the City of Joondalup.
