An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in City of Launceston in 2019/20 shows the three largest industries were:

- Manufacturing ($430 million or 15.6%)
- Education and Training ($274 million or 9.9%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $1,427 million in total or 51.7% of the total exports by total industry in the City of Launceston.
