An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the City of Launceston in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($1,175million or 18.4%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($677million or 10.6%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($546million or 8.6%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $2,398 million in total or 37.7% of the total local sales by total industry in the the City of Launceston.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Greater Hobart accounted for 26.0% in Construction; 8.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance and 6.5% in Financial and Insurance Services.
The major differences between local sales by industries of the City of Launceston and Greater Hobart were:
