The field of study relates to a number of factors, such as:
- The age of the workforce;

- The availability of jobs related to fields of qualification in the City of Mandurah;
- The types of occupations which are available in an area or industry.

- Management and Commerce (2,694 people or 10.9%)
- Society and Culture (2,544 people or 10.3%)
- Health (2,511 people or 10.2%)

In comparison, Western Australia employed 13.9% in Management and Commerce; 8.2% in Society and Culture and 8.5% in Health.
