Dominant groups
An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Meander Valley Council in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($328 million or 22.3%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($197 million or 13.4%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($134 million or 9.1%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $659 million in total or 44.9% of the total imports by industry in the Meander Valley Council.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Tasmania accounted for 28.8% in Manufacturing; 8.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance and 7.1% in Financial and Insurance Services.
The major differences between total imports by industries of Meander Valley Council and Tasmania were:
