Dominant groups
Analysis of the jobs held by the resident workforce in the MidCoast Council area in 2021shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (6,600 people or 19.4%)
- Retail Trade (3,783 people or 11.1%)
- Construction (3,477 people or 10.2%)
In combination these three industries employed 13,860 people in total or 40.7% of the total resident workforce.
In comparison, New South Wales employed 14.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.0% in Retail Trade and 8.6% in Construction.
The major differences between the jobs held by the resident workforce of the MidCoast Council area and New South Wales were:
