An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the City of Monash in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($3,593 million or 42.4%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing ($653 million or 7.7%)
  • Public Administration and Safety ($585 million or 6.9%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $4,831 million in total or 57.0% of the total imports by industry in the the City of Monash.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Victoria accounted for 32.1% in Manufacturing; 7.3% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing and 5.4% in Public Administration and Safety.

The major differences between total imports by industries of the City of Monash and Victoria were:
