An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the City of Monash in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($3,767 million or 39.9%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing ($793 million or 8.4%)
  • Public Administration and Safety ($790 million or 8.4%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $5,349 million in total or 56.7% of the total imports by industry in the the City of Monash.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Victoria accounted for 31.1% in Manufacturing; 7.3% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing and 6.5% in Public Administration and Safety.

The major differences between total imports by industries of the City of Monash and Victoria were:
