Dominant groups

An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in the Moreton Bay in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing (1,531 million or 29.9%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (674 million or 13.2%)
  • Retail Trade (596 million or 11.6%)

In combination these three industries accounted for 2,800 million in total or 54.6% of the total exports by industry in the the Moreton Bay.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 16.5% in Manufacturing; 8.8% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing and 3.1% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the total exports by industries of the Moreton Bay and Queensland were:

  • A smaller percentage of total exports by Mining (2.2% compared to 22.7%)
  • A larger percentage of total exports by Manufacturing (29.9% compared to 16.5%)
