An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Moreton Bay Region in 2020/21 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($6,054 million or 31.2%)
  • Public Administration and Safety ($2,315 million or 11.9%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance ($2,024 million or 10.4%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $10,393 million in total or 53.6% of the total imports by industry in the Moreton Bay Region.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 37.3% in Manufacturing; 6.0% in Public Administration and Safety and 5.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between total imports by industries of Moreton Bay Region and Queensland were:

  • A smaller percentage of total imports by Manufacturing (31.2% compared to 37.3%)
  • A larger percentage of total imports by Public Administration and Safety (11.9% compared to 6.0%)
