An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Moreton Bay Region in 2020/21 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($6,054 million or 31.2%)
- Public Administration and Safety ($2,315 million or 11.9%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($2,024 million or 10.4%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $10,393 million in total or 53.6% of the total imports by industry in the Moreton Bay Region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 37.3% in Manufacturing; 6.0% in Public Administration and Safety and 5.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
The major differences between total imports by industries of Moreton Bay Region and Queensland were:
- A smaller percentage of total imports by Manufacturing (31.2% compared to 37.3%)
- A larger percentage of total imports by Public Administration and Safety (11.9% compared to 6.0%)
- A larger percentage of total imports by Health Care and Social Assistance (10.4% compared to 5.2%)
- A smaller percentage of total imports by Mining (1.4% compared to 4.8%)
The total total imports by industry in Moreton Bay Region increased by $2,659 million between 2015/16 and 2020/21.
The largest changes in the total imports by industries between 2015/16 and 2020/21 in Moreton Bay Region were for:
- Manufacturing (+$1,096 million)
- Health Care and Social Assistance (+$546 million)
- Public Administration and Safety (+$498 million)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (+$436 million)
