Dominant groups

An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the Moreton Bay in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($5,599 million or 29.7%)
  • Public Administration and Safety ($2,330 million or 12.4%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance ($1,692 million or 9.0%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $9,621 million in total or 51.1% of the total imports by industry in the the Moreton Bay.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 34.9% in Manufacturing; 6.3% in Public Administration and Safety and 5.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between total imports by industries of the Moreton Bay and Queensland were:

  • A larger percentage of total imports by Public Administration and Safety (12.4% compared to 6.3%)
