Dominant groups
An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in the Nambucca Valley in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (65 million or 24.3%)
- Manufacturing (38 million or 14.3%)
- Accommodation and Food Services (28 million or 10.6%)
In combination these three industries accounted for 132 million in total or 49.2% of the total exports by industry in the the Nambucca Valley.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Regional NSW accounted for 13.6% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 16.4% in Manufacturing and 4.6% in Accommodation and Food Services.
The major differences between the total exports by industries of the Nambucca Valley and Regional NSW were:
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Mining (3.4% compared to 31.3%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (24.3% compared to 13.6%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Accommodation and Food Services (10.6% compared to 4.6%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Education and Training (9.7% compared to 3.8%)

The total total exports by industry in the Nambucca Valley $increased by 6 million between 2008/09 and 2022/23.
The largest changes in the total exports by industries between 2008/09 and 2022/23 in the Nambucca Valley were for:
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (+$27 million)
- Information Media and Telecommunications (+$14 million)
- Wholesale Trade (+$10 million)
