Dominant groups
An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the Nambucca Valley in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($279 million or 28.8%)
- Public Administration and Safety ($111 million or 11.5%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($98 million or 10.2%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $489 million in total or 50.5% of the total imports by industry in the the Nambucca Valley.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Regional NSW accounted for 30.3% in Manufacturing; 5.0% in Public Administration and Safety and 9.3% in Financial and Insurance Services.
The major differences between total imports by industries of the Nambucca Valley and Regional NSW were:
- A smaller percentage of total imports by Mining (2.7% compared to 13.4%)
- A larger percentage of total imports by Public Administration and Safety (11.5% compared to 5.0%)
- A larger percentage of total imports by Health Care and Social Assistance (9.7% compared to 4.7%)
- A larger percentage of total imports by Retail Trade (3.4% compared to 1.9%)
Emerging groups
The total total imports by industry in the Nambucca Valley increased by $272 million between 2008/09 and 2022/23.
The largest changes in the total imports by industries between 2008/09 and 2022/23 in the Nambucca Valley were for:
- Manufacturing (+$77 million)
- Public Administration and Safety (+$42 million)
- Financial and Insurance Services (+$35 million)
- Health Care and Social Assistance (+$28 million)
