Dominant groups
An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the Shire of Northam in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($156million or 18.9%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($96million or 11.7%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($65million or 7.9%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $318 million in total or 38.5% of the total local sales by total industry in the the Shire of Northam.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Western Australia accounted for 25.2% in Construction; 5.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance and 1.7% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.
The major differences between local sales by industries of the Shire of Northam and Western Australia were:
