Output by industry is a gross measure of the total sales of each industry sector in the Shire of Northam. It does not measure how productive each industry sector is at producing this output - which is measured by value added.

- Construction ($156 million or 11.1%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($134 million or 9.5%)

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Western Australia accounted for 10.0% in Manufacturing; 10.5% in Construction and 3.1% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.
