Dominant groups
An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the Northern Beaches Council area in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($4,959 million or 33.3%)
- Public Administration and Safety ($1,368 million or 9.2%)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing ($1,303 million or 8.8%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $7,630 million in total or 51.3% of the total imports by industry in the the Northern Beaches Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in New South Wales accounted for 31.7% in Manufacturing; 5.6% in Public Administration and Safety and 8.3% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.
The major differences between total imports by industries of the Northern Beaches Council area and New South Wales were:
- A smaller percentage of total imports by Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (2.2% compared to 6.4%)
