An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in Northern Midlands Council area in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($327 million or 44.0%)
- Manufacturing ($239 million or 32.2%)
- Wholesale Trade ($69 million or 9.3%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $635 million in total or 85.4% of the total exports by total industry in Northern Midlands Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Regional TAS accounted for 25.6% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 24.9% in Manufacturing; and 2.4% in Wholesale Trade.
