Dominant groups

An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Flinders Council in 2017/18 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($30 million or 23.4%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services ($19 million or 15.0%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services ($17 million or 13.3%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $65 million in total or 51.6% of the total imports by total industry in Flinders Council.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Regional TAS accounted for 31.1% in Manufacturing; 8.6% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 4.7% in Accommodation and Food Services.

The major differences between total imports by industries in Flinders Council and Regional TAS were:
