Analysis of the resident workers (Accommodation and Food Services) individual income levels in City of Launceston in 2016 compared to Tasmania shows that there was a similar proportion earning a high income (those earning $1,750 per week or more) and a higher proportion of low income persons (those earning less than $500 per week).
Overall, 2.3% of the resident workers (Accommodation and Food Services) earned a high income, and 53.3% earned a low income, compared with 2.1% and 50.6% respectively for Tasmania.
The major differences between the weekly income of the resident workers (Accommodation and Food Services) in City of Launceston and Tasmania were:
