Dominant groups
An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the NSROC Region in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($15,661million or 19.7%)
- Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services ($15,139million or 19.0%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services ($9,924million or 12.5%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $40,724 million in total or 51.2% of the total local sales by total industry in the the NSROC Region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in New South Wales accounted for 19.7% in Construction; 19.2% in Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services and 8.4% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.
The major differences between local sales by industries of the NSROC Region and New South Wales were:
- A larger percentage of local sales by Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (12.5% compared to 8.4%)
- A larger percentage of local sales by Information Media and Telecommunications (6.7% compared to 3.1%)
- A smaller percentage of local sales by Manufacturing (3.6% compared to 5.4%)
- A smaller percentage of local sales by Transport, Postal and Warehousing (2.4% compared to 3.9%)

The largest changes in the local sales by industries between 2013/14 and 2018/19 in the NSROC Region were for:

- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (+$2,290 million)
- Construction (+$2,063 million)
