City of Port Adelaide Enfield
The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is located in the north-western suburbs of Adelaide, about 8 kilometres from the Adelaide CBD. The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is a residential, commercial and industrial area. The City encompasses a total land area of about 97 square kilometres.
The key employment sector in the City of Port Adelaide Enfield is manufacturing. Other significant employment sectors include retail trade, transport, postal, warehousing and wholesale trade, and to a lesser extent, health care and education. The main industrial areas are located in the western, northern and central parts of the City; in the suburbs of Alberton, Angle Park, Birkenhead, Croydon Park, Dry Creek, Dudley Park, Ferryden Park, Gepps Cross, Gillman, Kilburn, Largs Bay, Largs North, New Port, Osborne, Ottoway, Outer Harbor, Peterhead, Port Adelaide, Regency Park, Taperoo and Wingfield. These industrial areas include Port Adelaide, various wharves and the Islington railway workshops. The major retail centres in the City are Port Canal Shopping Centre and Port Mall Shopping Centre, with bulky goods shopping at Gepps X Home HQ. Other significant retail centres are Enfield Plaza Shopping Centre, Gillies Plains Shopping Centre, Greenacres Shopping Centre, Northgate Village Shopping Centre, Regency Plaza, Sefton Plaza and The Junction Shopping Centre. The City’s main health care facility is Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre, a campus of Royal Adelaide Hospital. The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is home to four campuses of TAFE SA (Croydon, Gillies Plains, Port Adelaide and Regency) and numerous primary and secondary schools.
