Dominant groups
An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in City of Port Phillip in 2020/21 shows the three largest industries were:
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (2,893 million or 27.5%)
- Financial and Insurance Services (1,821 million or 17.3%)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing (862 million or 8.2%)
In combination these three industries accounted for 5,576 million in total or 53.0% of the total exports by industry in the City of Port Phillip.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Victoria accounted for 7.7% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 13.2% in Financial and Insurance Services and 6.8% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.
The major differences between the total exports by industries of City of Port Phillip and Victoria were:
- A larger percentage of total exports by Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (27.5% compared to 7.7%)
