Analysis of the jobs held by the resident workforce in RDA Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island in 2016 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (7,847 people or 14.3%)
- Retail Trade (5,449 people or 9.9%)
- Education and Training (5,211 people or 9.5%)
In combination these three industries employed 18,507 people in total or 33.8% of the total resident workforce.
In comparison, South Australia employed 14.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.7% in Retail Trade; and 8.6% in Education and Training.
