Dominant groups
An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the RDA Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($2,289million or 29.2%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($738million or 9.4%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($680million or 8.7%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $3,707 million in total or 47.3% of the total local sales by total industry in the the RDA Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in South Australia accounted for 24.1% in Construction; 4.2% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and 7.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
The major differences between local sales by industries of the RDA Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island and South Australia were:
- A larger percentage of local sales by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (9.4% compared to 4.2%)
