Dominant groups
An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in RDA BGLAP Region in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing (1,175 million or 42.8%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (811 million or 29.5%)
- Retail Trade (125 million or 4.6%)
In combination these three industries accounted for 2,111 million in total or 76.9% of the total exports by industry in the RDA BGLAP Region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in South Australia accounted for 19.1% in Manufacturing; 11.4% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and 3.5% in Retail Trade.
The major differences between the total exports by industries of RDA BGLAP Region and South Australia were:
- A larger percentage of total exports by Manufacturing (42.8% compared to 19.1%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (29.5% compared to 11.4%)
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Financial and Insurance Services (0.5% compared to 8.5%)
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Public Administration and Safety (0.2% compared to 7.5%)

The total total exports by industry in RDA BGLAP Region $increased by 130 million between 2017/18 and 2022/23.
The largest changes in the total exports by industries between 2017/18 and 2022/23 in RDA BGLAP Region were for:
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (+$292 million)
- Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services (+$58 million)
- Health Care and Social Assistance (+$38 million)
- Wholesale Trade (+$26 million)
