Dominant groups

An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in RDA BGLAP Region in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Construction ($1,101million or 25.7%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($595million or 13.9%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance ($384million or 9.0%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $2,080 million in total or 48.6% of the total local sales by total industry in the RDA BGLAP Region.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in South Australia accounted for 24.1% in Construction; 4.2% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and 7.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between local sales by industries of RDA BGLAP Region and South Australia were:

  • A larger percentage of local sales by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (13.9% compared to 4.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of local sales by Mining (0.5% compared to 3.7%)
