Dominant groups
An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in RDA BGLAP Region in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($969million or 23.0%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($434million or 10.3%)
- Manufacturing ($382million or 9.1%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $1,786 million in total or 42.5% of the total local sales by total industry in the RDA BGLAP Region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Regional SA accounted for 30.4% in Construction; 6.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance and 4.2% in Manufacturing.
The major differences between local sales by industries of RDA BGLAP Region and Regional SA were:
- A smaller percentage of local sales by Mining (0.4% compared to 20.6%)
- A smaller percentage of local sales by Construction (23.0% compared to 30.4%)
- A larger percentage of local sales by Manufacturing (9.1% compared to 4.2%)
- A larger percentage of local sales by Health Care and Social Assistance (10.3% compared to 6.5%)
