An analysis of the output by industry sectors in RDA Darling Downs and South West Region in 2017/18 shows the three largest industries were:
- Mining ($1,847 million or 57.8%)
- Manufacturing ($536 million or 16.8%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($473 million or 14.8%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $2,856 million in total or 89.3% of the total output by total industry in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 44.9% in Mining; 24.5% in Manufacturing; and 3.0% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.
The major differences between international exports by industries in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region and Queensland were:
