There are more resident workers qualified in Engineering and Related Technologies in Quilpie Shire than in any other field.

Analysis of the field of qualifications in Quilpie Shire shows that the three largest fields the resident workers were qualified in were:
- Engineering and Related Technologies (38 people or 8.4%)
- Agriculture, Environmental and Related Studies (30 people or 6.6%)
- Health (29 people or 6.4%)
