An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in RDA Darling Downs and South West Region in 2017/18 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($5,734 million or 38.7%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($1,681 million or 11.3%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services ($1,228 million or 8.3%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $8,643 million in total or 58.3% of the total imports by total industry in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 39.3% in Manufacturing; 9.0% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 7.0% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.
The major differences between total imports by industries in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region and Queensland were:
- A larger percentage of total imports by Financial and Insurance Services (11.3% compared to 9.0%)
- A larger percentage of total imports by Wholesale Trade (5.4% compared to 3.8%)
