An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the Western Downs Regional Council area in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($1,427 million or 24.6%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($822 million or 14.2%)
- Mining ($783 million or 13.5%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $3,031 million in total or 52.4% of the total imports by industry in the the Western Downs Regional Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 35.1% in Manufacturing; 10.0% in Financial and Insurance Services and 7.0% in Mining.
The major differences between total imports by industries of the Western Downs Regional Council area and Queensland were:
