Analysis of the resident workers individual income levels in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region in 2016 compared to Education and Training shows that there was a similar proportion earning a high income (those earning $1,750 per week or more) as well as a higher proportion of low income persons (those earning less than $500 per week).
Overall, 13.2% of the resident workers earned a high income, and 19.3% earned a low income, compared with 16.8% and 15.3% respectively for Victoria.
The major differences between the weekly income of the resident workers in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region and Education and Training were:
- A smaller percentage of resident workers earned $1,500 - $1,749 (7.5% compared to 14.0%)
- A larger percentage of resident workers earned $800 - $999 (13.8% compared to 9.6%)
- A smaller percentage of resident workers earned $1,750 - $1,999 (4.7% compared to 8.2%)
- A smaller percentage of resident workers earned $1,250 - $1,499 (8.9% compared to 10.9%)
