Dominant groups

Analysis of the jobs held by the resident workforce in South West RED Region in 2016 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (2,777 people or 23.3%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,294 people or 10.8%)
  • Public Administration and Safety (1,096 people or 9.2%)

In combination these three industries employed 5,167 people in total or 43.3% of the total resident workforce.

In comparison, Regional QLD employed 4.7% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 12.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 6.0% in Public Administration and Safety.

The major differences between the jobs held by the resident workforce of South West RED Region and Regional QLD were:
