An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in RDA Darling Downs and South West Region in 2017/18 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction (6,453 people or 24.8%)
- Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services (2,678 people or 10.3%)
- Manufacturing (1,703 people or 6.6%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $10,834 million in total or 41.7% of the total local sales by total industry in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 19.1% in Construction; 14.9% in Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services; and 7.4% in Manufacturing.
The major differences between local sales by industries in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region and Queensland were:
