An analysis of the output by industry sectors in RDA Darling Downs and South West Region in 2017/18 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction (6,453 million or 16.5%)
- Mining (5,498 million or 14.1%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (4,952 million or 12.7%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $16,903 million in total or 43.3% of the total output by total industry in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Regional QLD accounted for 13.6% in Construction; 15.0% in Mining; and 5.9% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.
The major differences between output by industries in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region and Regional QLD were:
- A larger percentage of output by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (12.7% compared to 5.9%)
