In 2016, there were 806 people who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region, compared with 85,445 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).
Analysis of the method of travel to work in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region in 2016 compared to the Health Care and Social Assistance workforce within the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region shows that 0.7% used public transport, while 73.5% used a private vehicle, compared with 0.3% and 77.2% respectively in the Health Care and Social Assistance workforce within the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region.
The major differences between the method of travel to work of the workforce in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region and the Health Care and Social Assistance workforce were:
