Dominant groups
An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in the RDA Kimberley in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:
- Mining (5,605 million or 77.2%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (585 million or 8.1%)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing (248 million or 3.4%)
In combination these three industries accounted for 6,438 million in total or 88.7% of the total exports by industry in the the RDA Kimberley.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Regional WA accounted for 82.5% in Mining; 5.9% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and 1.1% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.
The major differences between the total exports by industries of the RDA Kimberley and Regional WA were:
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Manufacturing (0.8% compared to 7.6%)
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Mining (77.2% compared to 82.5%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Transport, Postal and Warehousing (3.4% compared to 1.1%)
