An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the RDA Kimberley in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Construction ($323million or 14.3%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance ($232million or 10.3%)
  • Mining ($219million or 9.7%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $775 million in total or 34.4% of the total local sales by total industry in the the RDA Kimberley.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Western Australia accounted for 19.6% in Construction; 4.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance and 18.7% in Mining.

The major differences between local sales by industries of the RDA Kimberley and Western Australia were:

  • A smaller percentage of local sales by Manufacturing (1.9% compared to 12.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of local sales by Mining (9.7% compared to 18.7%)
