Dominant groups

An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the Limestone Coast region in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Construction ($870million or 20.2%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($697million or 16.2%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance ($380million or 8.8%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $1,946 million in total or 45.3% of the total local sales by total industry in the the Limestone Coast region.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Regional SA accounted for 30.4% in Construction; 6.6% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and 6.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between local sales by industries of the Limestone Coast region and Regional SA were:

  • A smaller percentage of local sales by Mining (0.1% compared to 20.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of local sales by Construction (20.2% compared to 30.4%)
  • A larger percentage of local sales by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (16.2% compared to 6.6%)
  • A larger percentage of local sales by Manufacturing (8.0% compared to 4.2%)
