Dominant groups
An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the Southern Mallee District Council in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($24million or 21.6%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($22million or 20.0%)
- Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services ($12million or 10.9%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $59 million in total or 52.5% of the total local sales by total industry in the the Southern Mallee District Council.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in South Australia accounted for 22.8% in Construction; 2.7% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and 12.7% in Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services.
