An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the RDA Sunshine Coast Region in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($5,138 million or 39.7%)
- Public Administration and Safety ($1,215 million or 9.4%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($882 million or 6.8%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $7,235 million in total or 55.9% of the total imports by industry in the the RDA Sunshine Coast Region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 35.1% in Manufacturing; 5.1% in Public Administration and Safety and 10.0% in Financial and Insurance Services.
The major differences between total imports by industries of the RDA Sunshine Coast Region and Queensland were:
- A larger percentage of total imports by Manufacturing (39.7% compared to 35.1%)
- A larger percentage of total imports by Public Administration and Safety (9.4% compared to 5.1%)
- A smaller percentage of total imports by Mining (3.0% compared to 7.0%)
- A smaller percentage of total imports by Financial and Insurance Services (6.8% compared to 10.0%)
The total total imports by industry in the RDA Sunshine Coast Region increased by $697 million between 2013/14 and 2018/19.
The largest changes in the total imports by industries between 2013/14 and 2018/19 in the RDA Sunshine Coast Region were for:
