Dominant groups

An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in RDA Sunshine Coast Region in 2017/18 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Construction (6,046 people or 21.3%)
  • Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services (5,135 people or 18.1%)
  • Manufacturing (1,961 people or 6.9%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $13,142 million in total or 46.4% of the total local sales by total industry in the RDA Sunshine Coast Region.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 19.1% in Construction; 14.9% in Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services; and 7.4% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between local sales by industries in the RDA Sunshine Coast Region and Queensland were:
