An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in RDA Whyalla and Eyre Peninsula Region in 2017/18 shows the three largest industries were:
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($778 million or 33.5%)
- Manufacturing ($654 million or 28.2%)
- Mining ($302 million or 13.0%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $1,733 million in total or 74.7% of the total exports by total industry in the RDA Whyalla and Eyre Peninsula Region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in South Australia accounted for 8.1% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 18.4% in Manufacturing; and 3.6% in Mining.
The major differences between total exports by industries in the RDA Whyalla and Eyre Peninsula Region and South Australia were:
- A larger percentage of total exports by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (33.5% compared to 8.1%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Manufacturing (28.2% compared to 18.4%)
