Analysis of the jobs held by the resident workforce in Whyalla District in 2016 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Manufacturing (1,308 people or 15.8%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,172 people or 14.2%)
  • Retail Trade (842 people or 10.2%)
