An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in RDA Whyalla and Eyre Peninsula Region in 2017/18 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction (525 people or 18.2%)
- Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services (347 people or 12.0%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance (249 people or 8.6%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $1,121 million in total or 38.8% of the total local sales by total industry in the RDA Whyalla and Eyre Peninsula Region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in South Australia accounted for 20.9% in Construction; 13.8% in Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services; and 5.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
The major differences between local sales by industries in the RDA Whyalla and Eyre Peninsula Region and South Australia were:
- A larger percentage of local sales by Health Care and Social Assistance (8.6% compared to 5.8%)
- A larger percentage of local sales by Mining (3.8% compared to 1.5%)
