Analysis of the fields of qualifications of the shows that the three largest fields of qualification were:
- Engineering and Related Technologies (9,716 people or 10.6%)
- Management and Commerce (9,201 people or 10.0%)
- Health (7,448 people or 8.1%)
In combination these three fields accounted for 26,365 people in total or 28.8% of the .
In comparison, Queensland employed 11.4% in Engineering and Related Technologies; 13.6% in Management and Commerce; and 7.7% in Health.
The major differences between the fields of qualifications of the in the RDA Wide Bay Burnett Region and Queensland were:
- A larger percentage of local workers qualified in the field of Education (7.2% compared to 5.6%)
