Analysis of the resident workers age structure of Southern Flinders Region in 2016 compared to Accommodation and Food Services shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (15 to 44 years) as well as a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (45 years and over).
Overall, 48.4% of the resident workers was aged under 45 years, compared to 65.9% for Accommodation and Food Services. 51.6% were aged 45 years and over, compared to 34.1% for Accommodation and Food Services.
The major differences between the resident workers age structure of Southern Flinders Region and Accommodation and Food Services were:
