Dominant groups
An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in Rockhampton Regional Council area in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:
- Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services (903 million or 21.5%)
- Mining (678 million or 16.2%)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing (650 million or 15.5%)
In combination these three industries accounted for 2,231 million in total or 53.2% of the total exports by industry in the Rockhampton Regional Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Regional QLD accounted for 2.6% in Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services; 49.2% in Mining and 5.2% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.
