Dominant groups
An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in Rockhampton Regional Council area in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:
- Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services (903 million or 20.4%)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing (874 million or 19.8%)
- Mining (678 million or 15.4%)
In combination these three industries accounted for 2,455 million in total or 55.6% of the total exports by industry in the Rockhampton Regional Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 3.5% in Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services; 9.7% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing and 31.5% in Mining.
The major differences between the total exports by industries of Rockhampton Regional Council area and Queensland were:
