Dominant groups
An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in Rockhampton Regional Council area in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($1,159million or 16.0%)
- Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services ($793million or 11.0%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($745million or 10.3%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $2,697 million in total or 37.2% of the total local sales by total industry in the Rockhampton Regional Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Regional QLD accounted for 21.9% in Construction; 4.0% in Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services and 8.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
